Do you like Green Eggs & Ham?

We do, we do like green eggs & ham! We enjoyed a fun treat of green eggs & ham recently at dinner. Along with our delicious cuisine, we enjoyed as Charlie read "Green Eggs & Ham". The kids love that book & I think they also loved watching it come alive in front of them. And I think the general consensus is that we are big fans of green eggs & ham & we will, we will eat them again!

I promise they taste much better than they look. Add a couple of drops of green gel food coloring to your cooking eggs & viola, a delightful meal!

Maggie & the Purple Crayon

I think that it is wildly ironic that on the same day that we read "Harold & the Purple Crayon" for the very first time, Maggie proceeds to find her own purple crayon & create her own adventure. Only her adventure runs the length of my breakfast nook wall, and then some!

It seems as if there was a level of understanding that this was a big "No,No!"

Servants Heart

My sweet daughter, has a servants heart that seems to be so much older than her 4 years of age. She wants to help, to do, to know that she is a vital, contributing member of this household. One afternoon while I napped & she watched a movie, I awoke to quite a big surprise. I came into the kitchen to find one proud little girl ready to burst at her motivation. First, she started by making us a snack.
Ok, so technically the fruit isn't washed, or peeled for that matter. She couldn't find the yogurt & felt that Cool Whip would be a perfect substitute. I had to ask why the water in my cup was so cloudy, to her delight she informed me, "I put lemon juice in it, just like you like it. I also used the cup I was using to do water paints with." "Oh my, Emma" I did have to apologize to her, letting her know that it would not be good for the baby to drink out of that same cup. She definately agreed if it would hurt the baby. I washed the fruit & we proceeded to eat our snack. And you know, Cool Whip does make a pretty good substitute for yogurt!

As if the snack wasn't enough, she proceeded to empty the entire dishwasher. I am just so thankful the dishes really were clean! As I watched her unload the last few dishes, taking such great care with anything glass, I stood amazed at how my little girl, really wasn't so little anymore.

I also thanked the Lord for my little girl with the servants heart & one less thing I would have to do that afternoon.

Summer Fun

We're enjoying our first summer here in South Carolina & are finding plenty to fill these long, hot days of ours. I love the smell of babies and sunscreen, the ice cold lemonade & the lazy, hazy, shady days of summer. I am looking forward to the cooler days that fall will bring but in the meantime will continue to explore our new habitat & the fun summer holds.

We've had several breakfast picnics at the beautiful waterfront in downtown Beaufort.

"To Infinity & Beyond!"

Their wonderful daddy spent many hours on Father's Day putting together a new gift for the kids. We jokingly refer to it as the monkey cage. Which truly does seem an appropriate name. Who knew that a trampoline & a sprinkler would bring so many hours of entertainment!

When we aren't swimming in our kiddie pool in the back yard we've managed to hit the pool here on Laurel Bay.

The heat & the first trimester of pregnancy go together about as well as oil & water. But the kids are having fun & the laughter of my babies makes it all worthwhile.
